Another of my favorite pieces. I made this for my sister-in-law on a visit home to see the family for the holidays. The top pulls off and is designed to hold a 5″ x 7″ photograph. For the unwrapping I put a picture of my nephew holding a sign that says” Merry Xmas”. It was an experiment for using small pieces of wood and stainless steel.

Surf Box

This box is created from stainless steel, cherry, and beetle-killed pine. The base is from a recycled ceiling light fixture. The feet used to hold halogen bulbs in them but i converted them to LEDs with a battery pack on the inside.

Onyx Box

Onyx Box

This box, one of my favorites, is made from recycled oak flooring, architectural glass samples, steel, a little mahogany, and onyx. In retrospect, I may have used to many different materials. Either way, its still one of my favorites. the funny thing about this piece is that is sits on a table top, but in early photos, people who saw the photo thought that this was a coffee table. Hmmm. . . not a bad idea
